Master's Programme in Telecommunication Engineering
The Master's Programme in Telecommunication Engineering is organised by the Department of Computer Science, and it mainly focuses on wireless communication and mobility. The programme also addresses the areas of telecommunication architecture evolution, digital communication and radio technology. Key subject areas in mobile networks are wireless communication, quality of service, mobility and security. The curriculum is carefully designed with high-quality courses and up-to-date teaching methods.
The Master's Programme in Telecommunication Engineering will provide students with a competence in both telecommunication engineering and computer science, contributing to the current technological demand of professionals in this field. In addition, Finland's participation in the technology sector is highly recognised. Companies such as Nokia, ABB, and Wärtsilä Corporation operate internationally and give the country an outstanding reputation.
Students applying for admission to the programme should have completed their undergraduate studies in an appropriate field such as telecommunication, computer science, production automation, and electrical engineering. The programme leads to a Master of Science in Technology degree, and it can be completed in 2-2,5 years. Master's degree students have no tuition fees. However, they are required to pay the Student Union membership fee of approximately 125 euros per academic year.
There are no entrance examinations for international Master's programmes. Admission decisions are made on the basis of the required documents, evaluating each complete application individually and selecting those with the best qualifications. The intake of the Master's Programme in Telecommunication Engineering is 25 students. The application period for the Master's programme is 1 January - 28 February annually.
